TRC August Meeting Summary
Sunday, August 17th @ 3pm — Attendance Via Zoom
TRC Management: Chad Zenz, Mark Mockensturm, George LeBoutillier (Absent). Members in Attendance: Paige via texting only / No audio.
OPEN SESSION… Started @ 3:10pm
Financial Update - Mark
- Income of $3,500 (up $1K from '24) from the '25 Summer Juniors Program.
- Approx. $3K commitment for a used Wintech Explorer 30 (identical to Barnacle) that is in route to TRC + we have a used MASS double that has been purchased for $2,400, will be professionally gone through and delivered between now and Midwest.
General Updates - Chad, Mark, George
- Recent TRF & TRC Boats Sold or for sale including Pending Sales - Mark - Bentley, Julien, and meeting later today with someone interested in another. Making room for the new boats coming in.
- Update on Race1 boat purchase - Chad - Race1 going out of business and has no current inventory available for purchase.
- Other BH, equipment (Erg racks), and general updates - Chad - TRF purchased 10 new ROGUE wall mounts to hang ergs on the wall. Goal is to free up more floor space and improve BH efficiency. Still need installed. 1 modern C2 erg is being donated soon to TRC from the parents of a recent high school rower that graduated.
- New Sculling oar racks - Chad - Once 6 sculling oar racks are completed the current sculling oars will need to be gone through to determine private ownership. Any abandoned oars will need to be determined what to do with. If there are any current TRC members privately owned oars in the oar racks they MUST be labeled as to whose they are. ALL oars will be stored in the new racks (not in between the studs of the exterior wall).
- Red Hudson Single - Owner - Chad & George - Owner is past due on their 2025 rack fee. If rack fees and TRC membership are not paid in full the boat will be considered abandoned. The owner needs to be identified and contact info established asap.
Specific August and/or September TRC Group Rowing Requests?
- No members requests for any group rowing in August or September were made. Chad will continue attempts to organize Quad or 4 rowing on weekends.
Destination Rowing
- Away Location Suggestions? Detroit & Cleveland (Paige text). When (dates & times) September: None. October: None. Chad will reach out to Detroit and Cleveland to discuss with their appropriate leaders and report back with any updates.
- TRC members interested and available? Chad, Mark, Brenda, Paige.
- TRC Mgmt. will further review this matter and determine what info and requirements will need to be supplied and met by all non TRC member rowers if we are able to proceed with this idea.
Regatta - (September 20th, 2025)
- General update - Chad & Mark - Financially strong. Flotilla, Land volunteers BADLY NEEDED!
- TRC members can sign up to participate in the Glass City Regatta events on Regatta Central. All entry fees MUST be paid using Regatta Central. TRC mgmt. will not be collecting fees for this event.
Other / Old Business…
- Locker - New lock has been put on the TRC locker and is accessible to all TRC members. Code is the same as the shower room.
- Log Book - Log book has been updated & put together. Please utilize once it is back on the log book shelf.
